An award-nominated entrepreneur who designed a board game to educate children in money management has spoken at a special Black History Month business event.
Barking and Dagenham is celebrating the annual Black History Month, all through October.
The Council Leader, Cllr Darren Rodwell and Cllr Afolasade Bright, also MC of the business event organised by FutureMC were present.
Bmoneywize founder Arinola Araba, 50, of Broad Street, Dagenham, was one of the speakers at Being in Business, which aimed to bring together the community and develop closer working partnerships
A former Avon lady, Arinola told the group how she came up with the idea for her game.
“My daughter was bringing a friend home from school when I was not around and cooking for them on a regular basis,” she said.
“I said ‘you’re wasting money’, and thought, ‘how I could go about talking to young people about managing money in a fun way, so i came up with the game.
I had the amazing opportunity to be a speaker at the event where I posed for a photo with Cllr Bright. As you can imagine, I thought it was an event for fun!?? More
