BMONEYWIZE, A local community organisation based in Barking, Essex has been nominated for the community organisation award at The National Diversity Awards 2018.
The breathtaking Liverpool Anglican Cathedral will play host to this year’s awards on September 14. Some of Britain’s most inspirational and selfless people will come together to honour the rich tapestry of our nation and recognise individuals and groups from grassroots communities.
The prestigious black tie event recognises nominees in their respective fields of diversity including age, disability, gender, race, faith, religion and sexual orientation.
BMoneywize is a youth-focused social enterprise. It provides an innovative educational solution to teaching young people financial literacy skills in an increasingly “cashless society”. It has been featured on ITV News for its work to create a solution to the problem of teaching children money skills in a digital world.
Arinola Araba, the director of bMoneywize, said: “We know that schools focus heavily on maths education of children, but financial education is rarely part of a high-school curriculum, leaving children lacking very important real-life skills. We develop board games aimed at fulfilling this growing demand for financial education, pioneering a fun and new approach to teaching.”
Microsoft and Direct Line were 2017 headline sponsors of the UK’s largest diversity awards, attracting a growing list of supporters including Sir Lenny Henry, Graham Norton and Katie Piper.
Olympic diver Tom Daley said: “The National Diversity Awards is a true celebration. A celebration of role models and community organisations who are having a huge impact on people lives. Everybody who has been nominated and shortlisted is striving towards making society better for everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, faith, religion, sexual orientation or disability. I would like to wish all nominees the very best of luck at this year’s National Diversity Awards.”
Nominations are now open and close June 1 2018. Shortlisted nominees will be announced shortly after this date. (We did not make finalist)
